14 Jun Learn To Say No
It is a blessing and a curse to be the “go to” person for everything at work or in life. If you’re in public safety you probably already have a servant’s heart so your inclination is to say yes whenever someone; a boss, colleague or friend comes to you needing your help. However, if left unchecked, this will almost certainly lead you to burnout.
It’s important to learn to say no. There are ways to be professional and respectful, while setting healthy boundaries for balance. Make sure you dedicate your time to everything that matters in your life, not just to your work. Go on that hike, BBQ with your family and take your needed moments of rest. We all need to work hard, but don’t lose sight of a healthy work/life balance.
