Bryson Ponce is a proven leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with command level executive experience in operations and administration. Bryson retired as the Assistant Chief with over 25 years serving with the Kauai Police Department in the County of Kauai, State of Hawaii. Bryson worked as a Patrol Officer before being promoted to Sergeant in 2007, where he successfully supervised a high functioning patrol squad for a few years. In 2009, Bryson was assigned as a Detective handling both Homicide and other felony cases and in May 2014, he was promoted to Lieutenant overseeing major crimes. In 2015, Bryson was promoted to Captain leading the Investigative Services Bureau and then in 2016 promoted to the Assistant Chief of Investigations. During his tenure with the Kauai Police Department, Bryson served as a field training officer, field training officer coordinator, tactical and crisis negotiations team member and eventually went on to serve as the commander of the crisis and special response team.
In 2016, Bryson attended and graduated from the 266th session of the FBI National Academy, in Quantico, Virginia. Bryson’s best-known attributes are inspiring and motivating employees, leadership development and succession planning, developing employee wellness & resilience programs, labor relations, is a strong active listener and highly skilled in conflict resolution. From dismantling drug trafficking organizations to building a team of highly skilled Sexual Assault Nurse examiners, and creating employee and employer friendly alternate work schedules, Bryson has built a reputation of motivating and mentoring successful teams.
In his spare time, Bryson enjoys spending quality outings at the beach and on the golf course with his wife Sheryl, daughter Bailey and dog Kiki.
